Sometimes during the set up the USB
connected NetPhone overrides the default sound card so all
your sound comes out of the NetPhone. To fix this ...
-
Goto
START
-
then
CONTROL PANEL
-
then
SOUNDS AND AUDIO DEVICES
-
select
the AUDIO tab (across the top)
-
change
the "default devise" from USB back to your normal sound
card
-
then
click OK

The most likely
cause is that you are behind a firewall or have some
firewall software running (eg ZoneAlarm). You need to either
shut off your firewall or have your PC expert configure your
firewall to accept incoming calls to the phone. In
particular, if you are running Windows XP you should make
sure that XP’s Firewall is not turned on. Here's how:
- Click on start
- Control Panel - Network Connections
- If you are
using a dialup connection then Right Click on the dialup
icon and click Properties. If you connect via a network
(or external DSL Router) then Right Click on Local Area
Connection and click Properties.
Click on the
“Advanced” Tab and insure that the check box under the
section called “Internet Connection Firewall” does NOT have
check mark.
The most likely cause is that you are
behind a firewall or have some firewall software running (eg
ZoneAlarm). This is particularly likely if you connect to
the Internet through a particular PC rather than external
DSL router. Please insure that the PC that connects to the
internet has no firewall software running on it. If the PC
concerned is running Windows XP then please refer to the
previous question (the one right above this one) and check
you do not have Windows XP’s Firewall feature turned on.
You can ring a NetPhone from your regular
phone now if you live in the US,
Taiwan or Hong Kong. You will need to call one of the
access location phone numbers then wait for a dial tone and
then enter the 7 digit MamaKall NetPhone number.
Click here for a list of access location phone numbers.
This feature will be operating in many
other countries soon.

Every NetPhone has a
call forwarding feature. When you are
not online, the incoming call can be
forwarded to a regular telephone number
of your choice.
To set this up:
Enter “My Account”
page (log
on here) to set the Call Forwarding
number. The number must be entered in
accordance with the NetPhone
dialing rules.
|

|
Please key in the
number that you want to forward your
calls to.
NOTE: The Call
forwarding target number must be a
regular phone number – be sure to start
with the correct prefix. (EX: 1 208 234
4357)
Example 1: To forward
to a U.S. or Canadian number, please
first key in 1, then the telephone
number- including the area code.
Eg. To call forward
to 208-234-4357, please complete the
call forwarding number as 12082344357.
Example 2: To forward
to a number outside the USA or Canada,
please first key in 011, then the
country code plus area code (omit any
‘0’ prefix), followed by the actual
telephone number.
Eg. To call forward
to Australian number (07) 32044279,
please complete the call forwarding
number as 01161732044279.
Whenever a call is
forwarded to a regular number you are
charged the per minute rate to connect
that number. |

Background noise
during phone call.
Users with
older PCs may experience problems.
Some older
PCs have SIS chipsets.
An
SIS chipset is
incompatible with many USB devices, including the USB
phones. This
incompatibility will
cause noise during the course of your phone call. The
chipsets which are incompatible with the phone is
the SIS 620 and earlier versions.
Please refer to
www.sis.com (<--
this link leaves our site) for chipset information.
I have Windows 98
and I can't get my USB phone working properly. What's wrong?
Please check to see that you have Windows 98 Second
Edition. (Win 98 SE). The USB
phones will only work with Windows 98 SE or later.
If you have Windows 98 First Edition (Version A) the
phones will not be able to be installed because the WDM
drivers are not supported. You will need to upgrade to
Windows 98 SE or a more recent operating system.

The
Sound level on your USB phone is related to the volume
controls on your PC. Please double click on the yellow
speaker icon down by the time (usually in the lower right
hand corner on your screen) and make sure all the volume
scroll bars are on high and that none of them are muted.
Then you can adjust the sound on the phone handset using the
volume button.
OR you
can go: START -> CONTROL PANEL -> SOUND AND AUDIO
DEVICES then on the first tab (Volume), make sure the box in
front of "Mute" is not checked. Then click on the
"advanced tab" next to the mute check box and in the next
window adjust the volume on each of the sliders and make
sure that none of the boxes are checked to "mute."

only get this warning because the software is still going
through the approval process with Microsoft, not because it
is likely to cause any problem on your system. We have

have Voicemail?
Yes...you
will need to login to
my accounts and setup the Conference call and Voicemail

if you have set up the conference feature
you can log into this site with the same details and use the
white board as well as the file upload to all the attendees you
have in a conference call.

hold a conference meeting. You can invite participants,
disconnect, mute, record, text chat, create an address book and

Will
the NetPhone work with Apple?
Sorry the USB
connected phones won't work on Apple Macintosh computers.
However our KE
phone plugs straight into a DSL router and doesn't need a PC.
(Although you do
need to have access to a PC to call up your prepaid balance
remaining and review calls made) You may want to consider that
phone if you have a DSL router. Specs
on the KE1020A NetPhone.
