KE1020A Set-up Guide

 

 

Underneath each KE1020A is a sticker as shown below

All model KE1020A NetPhones come preconfigured with this information and it is only required to view the online personalized account information.

 KE1020A Setup

1.      Connect the handset into the phone base with the flexible cable supplied.

2.      Connect the phone to your ADSL router (or Hub/Switch) using the Ethernet cable provided. Use the socket on the back of the phone marked “LAN”. You can then plug a PC into the socket marked “PC” – If you only have one Ethernet socket on your ADSL router you should plug the phone in FIRST and then plug your PC into the phone.

3.      Plug the 12V power supply provided into the phone.

4.      After 20 seconds the phone should display “Ready For Calls”. You can now make calls.

 

 

Note:

 If the phone continues to say “Please Wait” or “Wait Logon…” for more than 30 seconds then it has not been able to connect to the internet. The most likely cause is that your hub/switch/router is not configured to act as a “DHCP server” and has not allocated the phone an “IP address” (consult your hub/switch/router’s user manual on how to configure it as a DHCP server).  If you prefer to manually set the IP Addresses on your network you can configure the phone with a Static IP address – please contact MamaKall Tech support for advice or refer to the user guide supplied. If you have a “Firewall” then the phone may also encounter connection issues. Firewall settings.

 

 

Dialing Rules:

 

In the USA or Canada:

  • Dial 1 + the Area Code + the 7 digit #

  • For Example:  1-208-234-4357

  • Note: there is a fee for calling regular landline phones.

To call another MamaKall NetPhone:

  • Dial the 7 digit Netphone phone number followed by ‘#’ key.

  • Note: there is NO fee for placing calls between MamaKall NetPhones.

 

How The Billing Works:

  • When you purchased your phone you were provided with an instant credit of US$3.00 worth of prepaid calls.

  • You were also provided with a password for your personalized "My Account" web page which details your exact calling rates and gives you a detailed itemized call record of all of your calls.

  • As soon as you get your phone you can start making calls. When you have used up the initial US$3.00 provided, you will need to add more prepaid talk time to your phone by going to the "Top-up" section. There you will use your Credit Card to add more prepaid time to your phone account.

  • Once your phone has been "Toped-up" you can continue making calls. Remember you can always check the amount of prepaid money you have remaining on your account by going to your "My Account" page.
